A diary with no words. Six sliders describe a day and the day is rendered as a sky you can stand under, with its own pressure, precipitation and light. The archive is a year of weather instead of a year of sentences.
“a diary with no words. six sliders in, one sky out. pressure, humidity, visibility, wind. my mood as meteorology. do not make it a meditation app.▮

R&DResearch log
I stopped journaling in 2019 because writing the day down fixed it into a shape I did not agree with by the following morning. A sky is imprecise in the same way a day is imprecise, and it holds its ambiguity without arguing.
Eight days. The sliders were the entire design problem. Named emotions came first and produced the usual mood-tracker condescension. Replacing them with physical quantities — pressure, humidity, visibility, wind — made the instrument honest and, unexpectedly, far easier to answer at eleven at night.
A year in, the archive is legible in a way I did not plan for. Bad weeks are not dark, they are low-visibility. I can identify last March from across the room without reading a single label.
It runs natively and nowhere else. The Metal shader that makes the light convincing has no honest web equivalent, so the piece is trapped on one platform. Every port I have attempted ends up looking like a meditation app, which is the exact register the work exists to avoid.
